Revenues from mobile games acquired in the fourth quarter of 2025 increased by 1.5 per cent to $20.6 billion per year

According to the latest quarterly digital market index report issued by Sensor Tower, mobile games from App Store and Google Play in the fourth quarter of 2025 increased their domestic purchases by 1.5 per cent over the same period to $20.6 billion.

iOS platform:Driven by non-play applications, total global iOS application income increased by 6.8 per cent to $29.1 billion per year, but real game income declined by 1 per cent to $12.87 billion per year.Google Play:Total applied income increased by 15.2 per cent to $14.3 billion over the same period, of which Android game income increased by 5.7 per cent to $7.74 billion over the same period.

In the fourth quarter, the number of downloads of non-play applications reached a record 25.4 billion, while the number of downloads of mobile games declined by 10.7 to 11.7 billion over the same period. Of these, Google Play recorded a decrease of 11.5 to 9.82 billion downloads per year, while App Store recorded a decline of 9.3 to 1.85 billion downloads per year.

Strategic games and puzzle games contribute 45 per cent of Q4’s internal purchase income. Revenues from strategic games increased by 9 per cent over the same period, to $5.31 billion; and income from intellectual games increased by 21 per cent over the same period, to $3.94 billion. There was a decline in the third to fifth class of income: RPG game income declined by 7 per cent to $3.29 billion over the same period, lottery by 4 per cent to $2.79 billion and simulations by 12 per cent to $1.62 billion.

The top three categories of downloads combined accounted for 60 per cent of all downloads, but the top 10 groups all experienced a decline in downloads. The puzzle game was followed by 2.42 billion downloads (by 8 per cent compared to the same year), followed by 2.38 billion mock games (by 9 per cent compared to the same year), and 2.22 billion downloads (by 12 per cent compared to the same year).

Last War: Survival became the highest-paid in-house game in the fifth consecutive quarter, ahead of Whiteout Survival (above Monopoly Go), and Royal Match and Candy Legend. Block Blast goes beyond Roblox to be the top of the Q4 list, followed by Garena Free Fire, Pizza Ready and Subway Race. The Royal War is the only game in the top 10 list of income and downloads.
