Adali’s $29.3 million buy-out of the day-to-day Crossroads developer Hipster Whale.

Yadali announced the acquisition of the Australian hand-showing studio Hipster Whale, known for its development of the popular recreational hand-show ” Skywalk ” . This acquisition enabled Yadali to acquire one of the most visible leisure hand trips in the field of mobile games, which has been downloaded over 340 million times since its publication.

Hipster Whale, founded by Matt Hall and Andy Sum in 2014, has been involved in the development of games such as Soyman 256, Disney Crosses Every Day, and Apple Arcade, The Castle of the Road. The studio is well known for its easy-to-hand street style and is well-loved by leisure and senior players.

Under the Acquisition Agreement, Yadali was required to make a down payment of $29.3 million, including $26 million in cash and $3.3 million in Yadali equities. The agreement also included an additional payment clause based on performance over the next three years, up to $10 million.

Wade Rosen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Yadali, said: “Adali and Hipster Whale have a common gene in the field of classical retrostoral games, and we can take full advantage of each other — Hipster Whale is good at mobile games and Yadali is focused on high-end games — thereby significantly expanding our mobile business. The acquisition of Hipster Whale was an important milestone in the Yadali development plan.”

“Hipster Whale loves the game. Cooperation with Yadali brings together our unique mobile game development experience and the strengths of the two companies, such as Yadali’s classic IP, strong empowerment and cross-media influence.”

During the past few years, Yadali has been gradually rebuilding its mobile and distribution operations. The company has been working on mobile games, retro-IP revival, subscription services, and even with Netflix, Amazon and AirConsole ‘ s in-car platform projects.

Hipster Whale’s cooperation with Yadali appears to be an option, as both companies are deeply rooted in the field of street games. Adali has classic game brands and distribution support, while Hipser Whale has mature mobile experience and a globally recognized series of games.
