A week’s list of micro-short dramas overseas: the heat of the great Indian short show, and the material for My Drama lead.

DataEye released its latest edition (18 August to 24 August) of the Foreign Micro Shorts Hot List and the APP Materials List, which provide a comprehensive picture of the global micro shortshow market in terms of content heat and marketing. Not only is there a high level of competition in the head of the episode, but it also reflects the continued placing of large platforms in overseas markets.

In the current edition of the Foreign Micro Shorts Hot List, Daugter of The Secret Tycoon is ranked first at 5.33 million, making it the hottest micro Shorts this week. The show focuses on such topical topics as “Gorges, Emotions, Men’s Frequency”, the main delivery platform of which is Kuku TV: Reel Shorts, with a cumulative heat of 12,573,000, showing a high degree of user viscosity and transmission.

Next, The Missing Master Chef, with a heat value of 5.216 million, ranked second. The show, which is based on “Men, Reversive, Superpower” as its core selling point, is invested by NetShort, with a cumulative heat value of 73.302 million, representing a long-term, stable explosion. Despite a slight downturn during the period, the momentum remained strong.

The third name is I BECAME MY CEO’S DARKEST SECRET, which has a hot-hot value of 4.507 million, with DramaPick as the main sponsor, who plays the theme “CEO” in keeping with the current trend in the field of love. It is noteworthy that another edition of the same-named series (No. 5) is on the list, showing the wide range of multi-platform distributions and audiences of such IPs.

Overall, the total heat value of the TOP 30 microfat was 566.65 million for the current period, a small 1.2 per cent decrease over the previous period, but it remained high. Of these, 24 dramas had a combined heating value of more than one million, which remained at the same level as in the previous period, indicating that the overall heat level in the market was stable and that quality content was adequate.

In addition, several new plays appear on the list, such as Miss you AFTER GOODBYE, Accently Slept with the Young Mafia Boss, TOO YoUNG TO WANTA HER PROFESOR, reflect the speed of the new play and the increasing competition in the market.

My Drama has been at the top of the list with 73,000 sets of material and has been at the top of the list for a number of consecutive periods, showing a strong market delivery capacity and a globalized business strategy. Its main target countries include France, Germany and Italy, which cover the core markets of Western Europe and are precise in reaching populations with high consumption potential.

In the second place, DramaWave, a group of 45,000 inputs, produced by the Kunlun Man-Way, is the main target of the Italian, French and German markets, which have risen rapidly with quality content and localization.

The third name, Kuku TV, is a group of 40,000, which targets emerging markets such as the United States, Singapore and Indonesia, reflecting the importance they attach to Asia-Pacific and North American markets.

Overall, the total input of TOP30 APP during the period amounted to 387,000 groups, representing an increase of 6.3 per cent in the ring, indicating a steady increase in overall industry marketing inputs. Of this, My Drama, a single platform, accounted for nearly one fifth of the total, highlighting its absolute leadership in the field of micro-short dramas abroad.

In terms of geographical distribution, the European market (especially French-German) remains the main battlefield, while regions such as South-East Asia (e.g. Indonesia, Philippines) and South America (e.g. Brazil) have also become priority outreach regions, reflecting the transition from “broad entertainment” to “complex operations” in China.

In terms of the distribution of subject matter, the hot list is concentrated in this period, and “emotional” “urban” “reverse” “female frequency/male frequency” remains the dominant element, especially in the “female frequency+emotional+urban combination”. Divorced at the Wedding Day, Too Young to Want her Professor, Spark Me Tenderly, etc., were organized around women ‘ s growth and marital relationships, matching the emotional needs of female viewers overseas.

At the same time, the subject of “Mixers + Men’s Frequency” has shown a great deal, as in the series “Accently Slept with the Young Mafia Boss” and “The Mafia Boss” which attracts male user groups through intense conflict and high-strength dramas.

It is worth mentioning that some of the dramas have begun to try to express themselves in a cross-cultural way, such as the eleventh title, ” Chenying it in Chinese ” (the Japanese title) and the twelfth title, ” Second-time escape by a son-in-law of a fortune ” . A recent Japanese mini-shortshow market report released by Meta showed that Japan’s micro-shortshow market earned $70 million in the first half of 2025, and that Japan’s micro-shortshow market is expected to reach $480 million by 2025, indicating that the Japanese market is becoming a new growth point.

With the upgrade of the overseas version of the ADX short play, there will be more data tools to help match the content effectively with the platform. For practitioners, it is important both to sharpen the story core and to focus on the habits and logic of overseas users in order to emerge from the global wave of short dramas.
