Logistics Science and Technology Expo 5 to assist enterprises to go to sea

The Fourth Logistics Science and Technology Expo, organized by the Productivity Authority on Friday (19), in a message from Chief Technology Director Zhang Chang Chang, mentioned Hong Kong as the most international city in the country, with the establishment this year of the “The Cradle Out of the Sea Service Centre” to assist local and Mainland enterprises to develop more effectively overseas markets. He mentioned that the Expo addressed five key areas for high-quality development in the logistics industry, including: new quality productivity; low-altitude economies; environment, social and governance (ESG) and sustainability; transport and logistics; and smart supply management, calling on participants and exhibitors to match.

More than a thousand people took part in the show.

This year ‘ s event attracted over a thousand participants, and the size of the event was more than twice as high as last year, with over 60 well-known Chinese-Hong Kong logistics enterprises demonstrating cutting-edge logistics technologies such as intelligent logistics, green supply chains, and digital solutions. The exhibit participants included Hong Kong Post, Kyingdong Tech, SHOPLINE, FreightAmigo, Auto-ID Technology, Axis Communications, Tradelink, SF Supplementary Chain, etc., to showcase logistics and transport innovation.

One Energy Group Executive Director, Ki Juncai, stated that the company was a provider of energy solutions and was now working with the two main local delivery platforms to pay HK$999 per month for its electric motorcycle, which was available for unlimited power exchange.

He used the example of a light electric car, Tiger GT, which could run 160 kilometres with double batteries, so that power exchange could be done quickly in three steps; it would be more compatible with mobile phone applications, driving, locking or looking for seating, and looking at existing batteries. In the future, 1,000 power-replacement hot spots will be set up to facilitate the transporter ‘ s self-replacement.

Turning to the recent hot low-altitude economy, Harmony SkyTech, an inland drone company, was shown, carrying up to 280 kg under the flag and extending the business network to Indonesia. With the development of the Northern Metropolitan Area, it is expected that operations will be extended to the Bay of Australia in Port-au-Prince. The UAVs require a test, and Hong Kong can be used as a base for the examination, and the licence plate can be integrated internationally. Sea Lion Mechanical Industries Program Ltd., in turn, presented the “Selection/Sorting Light Label System” at the Expo, and its Commercial Marketing Director, Guan Yu-Ting, noted that the system was a flexible model grouping design at a cost of approximately five figures, which had been adopted by the secondary school textbook publisher, the power company spare parts warehouse and the government pharmacy.

Data collection tool for ESG, Bureau of Transport

This fair has been actively working with the policy directions of the new Governance Report to help consolidate the status of the Hong Kong International Shipping Centre. According to the Permanent Secretary of the Bureau of Transport and Logistics, Cai Jiegzhin, the Government established the Third Party Logistics Service Support Pilot Scheme in October 2020, which provides up to $2 million for each enterprise, with a cumulative sum of approximately HK$ 174 million. He looked forward to the development of a set of ESG data collection tools by industry and academia to facilitate small and medium-sized enterprises in the logistics industry, with a target roll-out this year.
