Telegram went to centralize the AI network Cocoon and launched the Privacy AI Calculator Network.

Pavel Dorov, founder of Telegram, confirmed on Sunday that a decentrized privacy computing network based on the TON block chain had been officially launched. The network, fully known as the Open Secret Computing Network, is designed to provide an AI request processing service that provides users with safe privacy protection. Cocoon allows any user with a GPU (figure processor) to obtain an encrypted currency gain by running an AI model that requires privacy protection. Durov disclosed that some GPU holders had contributed to the calculation of AI missions and earned TON coins.

The network handles the AI requests of Telegram users in a completely confidential manner, with the aim of becoming a central AI service provider that cannot guarantee data privacy. Cocoon ensures the privacy, probabilities and certifiability of the model implementation process by connecting GPU suppliers to developers, and by leveraging a credible implementation environment (e.g. IntelTDX) technology. Telegram, the first major client of Cocoon, has integrated the network ‘ s privacy AI capabilities to support the privacy interaction function of users. Durorov had previously indicated that in the process of cocoon incorporating GPU suppliers and developers in the TON ecosystem, Telegram would promote the network and act as its initial demand engine. The TON block chain supports the economic system of Telegram ‘ s application, which supports the creator ‘ s share of proceeds and the payment of advertising. Cocoon has created a market for computing transactions: individuals contribute to computing resources through GPU and obtain TON-encoded money, developers have access to low-cost AI infrastructure and queries processing does not expose user data to centralised service providers.

This decentrization of AI infrastructure is seen as a competitor against the monopolistic patterns of technology giants such as AWS and Microsoft Azure. The project was positioned by Dorov as a response to the erosion of digital freedom. The launch of the project coincided with a growing awareness of a centralized AI system. When companies such as OpenAI or Google handle user queries, they are able to see all information — including hints, data, behaviour patterns and metadata. Cocoon ‘ s confidential calculation methods kept this information encrypted throughout the process and were not available even to the GPU owners who actually performed the calculations. Telegram provided the immediate scale advantage of the project as a platform for globalization. Telegram will integrate cocoon throughout its ecology to support its mini-AI applications and may radically change the way users interact with AI on a daily basis.

Max Kron, Chief Executive Officer of the Ton Foundation, stated that the release marked a transition to an open, user-driven computing economy, in which control of the AI infrastructure was handed over to the user rather than to the value-grabbing company. In his press release to Decrypt, he stated: “With more than a billion users ‘ base in Telegram and a high-performance, scalable block chain technology in TON, Cocoon is expected to redefine the way in which hundreds of millions of users interact with AI in their daily digital lives. This is an unprecedented integration of social media, AI and decentrization technologies. The digital asset infrastructure listed in NASDAQ and the Ton Treasury company AlphaTON Capital announced plans to make a “significant investment” in all hardware needed to support the network. The company will deploy a new generation of large memory GPU models in the strategic data centre to support advanced model structures, including DeepSeek and Qwen.
